Shane Lewis
Daytona Prototype driver Shane Lewis has been racing since 1989.He has won multiple races in Grand-Am, IMSA, and SCCA Pro Racing and has podium finishes, class victories and overall wins throughout the world.
From Daytona to Le Mans
Lewis has successfully raced for Riley & Scott Europe, Pilbeam Racing America, Mosler Automotive, MCR, Saleen, Callaway, BMW, MINI, Honda and in Team Cascadia's LMP1 Lola. He is considered one of the sports' leading development and race drivers and is always a fan favorite.He has competed in all major styles of cars currently running in American sports car racing; Daytona Prototype, LMP1, LMP2, GT1, GT2 as well as SPEED World Challenge and Grand-Am Cup Grand Sport (GS) and Sport Touring (ST) classes.
Lewis has driven in twenty five 24-hour races including three 24 Hours of Le Mans , ten 24 Hours of Daytona, two 24 hours of Nurburgring and has two overall and one class-victory at the 24 Hours of Nelson Ledges.He has raced in seven 12 Hours of Sebring, five Petit Le Mans, four One Lap of Americas and was the 1998 IMSA Rising Star award winner.He acted as lead test driver for Don Alexander's best selling book 'Performance Handling for the 90's'.
BMW Fun Stuff
Shane raced two full seasons in a BMW Powered Daytona Prototype.During that time he led had podium finishes at the prestigious Long Beach Grand Prix and at Phoenix International Raceway.He also set fast race laps and race leading laps at many events those two seasons.Shane raced a BMW in the FIA GT series and was on the podium at the FIA World event at Homestead Raceway.In addition to these top classes, Shane took the first ever pole position in a professional race series world wide in a new Mini Cooper in the Koni Challenge series at Homestead.He also set two track records, more pole positions and fastest race laps for the Mini Cooper that same year.
